I've long known that I look at the world very differently than other educational leaders. It might have been my avant garde elementary education or my impatience to see technology move us into the many possibilities of the unknown. Whatever that pre-disposition is, I know the time is right to have this conversation. I'm excited to engage with my colleague, Dr. Pamela Redmond, as we open this dialogue and wait to see what our crowdsourcing research looks like! Let's go.

On March 6, 2018, Drs. Louise Santiago and Pamela Redmond will present a Campfire session at SXSWedu in Austin, TX on what we perceive as a crisis facing schools - how can we prepare future ready leaders for 21st century schools? Over our years of working in a variety of schools and collaborating with teachers, administrators and district personnel, Louise and I came to realize that tomorrow's workforce demands new models for school. How do we prepare and support leaders to be ready to drive the innovation? New models for principal and administrator preparation are essential. What might the training include? What skill sets should be the focus? How do we integrate innovative leadership into a closed system (i.e. school districts)? This campfire will use crowdsourcing to gather wisdom on these topics and those that evolve from the discussion. Here are our learning objectives for the session:
